How Gorilla Glue Strain Glues You Down Like A Gorilla

The Gorilla Glue marijuana strain has been rapidly growing in demand and is now the most coveted cannabis type in the U.S market. Why is this one might ask? The reason Gorilla Glue has become so popular is due not only to its incredible potency but also to the fact that this particular marijuana product is expertly bred for the highest possible quality. In other words, you get your bang for your buck when you purchase Gorilla Glue.

However, while people might be aware that Gorilla Glue Strain is the rising star in the cannabis industry, they might not know exactly what it is, or the detailed particulars, on why so many think its the best of the best. So what is Gorilla Glue exactly?

What is the Gorilla Glue Strain?

Gorilla Glue is an Indica dominant strain that was developed in 2012. This unique cannabis plant came into existence by experimenting with some of the best strains known today, namely the popular strains Chem Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. These strains were cross-bred, which effectively married the best qualities of each strain mentioned above. This then produced a hybrid strain that has, since then, won many awards for its potency and quality.

Marijuana lovers generally know that there is a big difference between an Indica cannabis plant and a Sativa plant. Sativa induces a stimulating effect which creates an energized, more motivated mood.  Indica, on the other hand, produces a more sedative effect which makes you want to rest, relax, and even sleep.

Although there is Sativa within Gorilla Glue Strain, there is much more Indica in Gorilla Glue. The exact percentage of Sativa is 21-42 percent depending on the type of Gorilla Glue Strain, while the Indica strength is around a 58-79 percentage depending on the type of GG plant.

There are three different types of Gorilla Glue: the Original Glue (GG4), the Sister Glue (GG1), and the New Glue (GG5). All of these are made with the three strains mentioned above although the ratios are a bit different in each one. Both the original and the sister strain’s lineage description on the official GG Strain website states that it is a “Sour Dubb x Chem Sis x Chocolate Diesel” combination, while the New strain is labeled “GG1 x GG4” in its lineage label.

The three plant strains used in Gorilla Glue Strain, Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel, are strains that are well-known and highly used in the cannabis industry because of their great quality and their strong psychoactive power. Gorilla Glue Strain can create an immediate and intense high due to the high levels of THC, which greatly alter the state of mind.

The more THC one consumes, the more psychoactivity takes place in the user. Therefore, because the Gorilla Glue strain is a blend of all three of these bad boys, it makes for an incredibly potent product, with THC levels reaching as much as 30 percent in the Original, followed by the New and Sister glues with a 28 percent THC potential.

Aroma

Due to the heavy terpene levels found within the Gorilla Glue strain, all three types share a similar earthy and pungent smell with a hint of sour smell due to the Sour Dubbs. However, the Sister Glue Strain tends to have more of a coffee or mocha type smell than the other two strains, which carry more of a pine scent. This is because of the heavy diesel content within the sister strain.

Flavor

Similar to the aroma description, all three Glue Strains carry a pungent and earthy taste. One can also taste the tartness, which varies from batch to batch. Some batches are much sourer while others have a sweeter taste, which is common in the Original Glue.

Appearance

The appearance of the Gorilla Glue strain is generally a medium-sized, bright green plant with long, pointy leaves, round, thick nugs, and tiny frost-like trichomes that almost looks like sugar dust has been sprinkled all over the plant. The trichomes and the nugs hold much of the terpenes and cannabinoids, both of which adds much potency to the plant.

Gorilla Glue Lawsuit

The  GG Strains company, founded by Jackie Don Peabody when he formulated his first Gorilla Glue hybrid in 2012, hastily named his newest creation Gorilla Glue because of its strong stickiness. Little did he know that this would cause a major problem with the big-time adhesive company called Gorilla Glue. The Gorilla Glue company, upon finding out about the Gorilla Glue Strain company, filed a lawsuit against them on the grounds that they were, simply put, stealing their trademark name to use as their own.

They then proceeded to produce a large list of over 140 complaints against GG Strains, mostly about how similar the GG Strains’ trademarked gorilla pictures and their own trademarked gorilla pictures were when compared, as well as how they played upon Gorilla Glue Company’s well-known, sticky adhesive properties by applying the idea to their sticky Marijuana plant.

Their official accusations include the terms trademark infringement, unfair competition, cybersquatting, and dilution.

The case came to an end and a settlement was agreed upon. GG Strains would stop using the similar gorilla image as their main logo symbol and they would also change the names of their strains. GG strains have since complied by simply taking the name “Gorilla” away from each specific GG strain name and adding new prefix names.

The new names are as follows: Original Glue (formerly known as Gorilla Glue #4), Sister Glue (formerly known as Gorilla Glue #1), and New Glue (formerly known as Gorilla Glue #5). Additionally, GG Strains had to discontinue any reference to the term Gorilla or Gorilla Glue and any other affiliates of GG Strains has to, likewise, discontinue to use the term.

Thus far, GG Strains has been readily compliant, although getting affiliates to do the same is much more difficult a task.
